Lab news and updates:

June 10-14, 2026: Jon, Anna, and Kieran attended MAPPS + DevCell 2026, and Anna and Kieran presented posters.

May 21, 2026: Jon was awarded a Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award to support research in the lab! SMU news feature here.

April/May 2026: Madison presented her research to the department to achieve distinction, and graduated! Congrats, Madison!

March 25-26, 2026: Delainey, Madison, Kieran, and Anna presented posters for SMU Research and Innovation Week. Delainey won second place in the undergraduate poster category!

February 24, 2026: Delainey and Madison presented posters at the annual Texas Genetics Society Meeting in San Antonio.

December 18, 2025: We won the departmental holiday door decorating contest and took home the prize of chocolates!

July 3, 2025: We welcomed a group of visiting students from the Asian Culture and Education Society to introduce them to research and tour the lab.

June 29, 2025: Bailey presented work on dur-1 at a poster at the International worm meeting!

October 23, 2024: 7th graders from Waxahachie came to visit the lab and learn about tardigrades. We went out to hunt for tardigrades around campus and found nematodes and tardigrades in the samples we collected! Thanks to the students and teachers for visiting!
